What is a Website Review?
Did someone give you the opportunity to review your Website?
Whenever I think about the importance of reviewing ourselves in Business, I always arrive at the same topic: “If someone can help me make the review, it will be better” because it isn’t easy to make a RETROSPECTIVE of OURSELVES
What do you think? …
A website review is a comprehensive evaluation of a site's design, content, functionality, and user experience to ensure it meets its intended goals and serves its target audience effectively.
In simple words: You, Your Company, and Your Services!
The main thing to make a REVIEW on our website is to analyze if we’re expressing correctly the first three questions:
To whom? “Your Target Audience”
The What? “your Services, Products, Courses, etc?”
Why? “This is your unique value purpose—what sets you apart”
To whom?
OMG! Every time I review a website for my clients, I ask the same essential questions and even showcase examples from my own site to clarify what we’re talking about.
Answering these questions can be challenging, especially when the services
offered are so varied that it’s hard to present them cohesively on a single page.
Something is clear:
You can not talk to everyone at the same level
That’s why it’s crucial to define your “USER PERSONAS.” These personas will guide both the design and content strategy for your website.
When you truly understand your audience, it becomes easier to ensure that your website’s messaging and functionality align with their expectations and needs. This means speaking directly to the right people in a way that resonates with them, rather than trying to appeal to everyone at once.
The What?
Is it clear who you are and what you do?
(For example, can people instantly see that you’re a photographer?)
This is where clarity is king. Visitors to your website should immediately understand what you do and what you're offering.
Are you a family photographer specializing in newborn shoots?
Do you offer mini-sessions for holidays?
Maybe you also teach beginner photography workshops?
All in one?
Whatever it is, make it crystal clear on your homepage. Then a specific detail to each service page.
The Why?
Why do you do what you do?
Why should someone choose you over others offering similar services?
This is your unique value proposition—what sets you apart?
When someone lands on your website, they should feel like you’re speaking directly to them. Your "why" should resonate with their needs or aspirations.
For example, if you’re a family photographer, your “why” could be about capturing authentic moments families will cherish forever.
If you’re offering photography courses, your "why" might center on empowering others to find their creative voice through the lens.
A tip here:
Make your "why" visible on your homepage or in an "About" section.
Use words that evoke emotion and showcase your passion.
That said, let me help you review your current website.
Together, we’ll focus on every detail and, most importantly, answer the key questions we’ve discussed above.
